I must confess that I was a bit unsure about our meeting on 1st August .
The focus on Sound Healing Therapy sounded just a little `new age` as our speaker, Hayley was the first to admit, before pointing out that the practice actually dates back to Ancient Greece and was a feature of many other cultures.
Hayley, from Heartful Sound Healing, was an attractive and engaging speaker.
She outlined some of the beneficial effects that many experience before leading an immersive demonstration. The interesting Q and A session that followed seemed likely to go on all night as our ladies had lots to contribute, until `time` was called and there was an opportunity for us to explore Hayley`s wide range of instruments.
It was a fascinating and enlightening evening.
The rest of the month was busy and varied. As well as our usual range of group activities, it included a `Crafternoon` learning how to make paper flowers , a walk around Ightham Mote and a Speaker Event followed by afternoon tea .
At our September meeting we`ll be welcoming Peter Batty who will be telling us about `Changing Rooms` – not an interior design challenge but a look at how our homes have changed throughout the years. Sounds interesting? Come along and see…. visitors are always welcome (1st Thursday of month at 7.30)
