About Farningham Women’s Institute
A Heritage of Friendship, Learning and Community Since 1918
Our Story
Founded in June 1918, Farningham Women’s Institute has been at the heart of our community for over 106 years. What began as a small group of local women has flourished into a vibrant community of approximately 60 members from Farningham, neighbouring villages, Greater London, and surrounding rural areas.
Who We Are
We’re a diverse group of women aged 30-80+, united by our desire to learn, share experiences, and make a difference in our community. Our members bring a wealth of knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm to everything we do.
What We Do
Our calendar is packed with engaging activities:
- Monthly meetings with fascinating speakers
- Regular craft sessions and workshops
- Short mat bowls club
- Friday walking group
- Book club and scrabble gatherings
- Popular ‘PA & I’ lunch club
- Seasonal celebrations and social events

2025 Annual membership is £51 (pro-rata according to your start date), and visitors are welcome to attend a meeting for £3.
