Maybe it was the sparkly decorations and the tables laid out in red and green …
Perhaps it was the Christmas music….
It could have been the delicious canapes and welcome drinks…
Or even the prospect of a meal that someone else had cooked!
Whatever the reason, our ladies were in festive mood when they gathered for the Christmas meeting, The hall was packed with almost 60 members and there was much chat and laughter. After this sociable start, we settled down to an excellent meal provided by Clare (of “Clare`s Cuisine”) , followed by “entertainment” from the committee.
This year`s offering was a rendition of `A Christmas Alphabet`: the original song (The Dream) followed up with a more realistic version (The Reality) before everyone joined in a raucous finale. Then there was just time for our Grand Christmas Hamper and Gift Box Draw before we all set off for home .
Since our January meeting falls so close to New Year , we have rescheduled to a lunchtime event on January 19th with fish and chips followed by a quiz. Visitors are very welcome but, on this occasion, please let us know in advance if you`d like to join us – we`ll need to include you in our order as we`d hate you to go hungry!
